Everyone struggles. Talk about it.

Everyone struggles. Talk about it.

We are all tempted.  Each and every one of us.  And we don’t talk about it enough.

The lust of the flesh.  The lust of the eyes.  The pride of life.  We all struggle.  Every day.  (1 John 2:15-17)

What do we do about it?

Love God more than things in this world; temporary things that please only for a short period of time.

Love each other.  Be there for your friends and family.  When you’re tired, busy, or don’t feel great yourself, lift up your neighbor.  (Matthew 22:36-40)

Build a network of brothers and sisters upon which you can rely.  And rely upon them.  Every day.

“Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.  For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.  The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.”  (1 John 2:15-17)

“Teacher, which commandment is the greatest in the Law?” Jesus declared, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’  This is the first and greatest commandment.… And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’  All the Law and the Prophets” depend on these two commandments. (Matthew 22:36-40)
