Demand Virtuous Leaders

American democracy is not infallible and indestructible. The outputs of a Democratic system, by definition, are the products yielded by the will, behavior, and actions of individual citizens.

Breaking it down, your government produces what you demand it to.

How have you behaved?

If individuals behave badly, acting selfishly and without virtue, then the result will generally be candidates for public office who mirror that behavior.

If individuals behave well, acting selflessly and demanding virtues be upheld, then the result will generally be virtuous leaders.

If you don’t demand virtue of yourself, then don’t demand it from a stranger behind a podium on TV!

How will you behave?

“The superior man thinks always of virtue; the common man thinks of comfort.” ~Confucius
