Don’t allow your labels to define your identify. You’re more than your labels.
We’re made to believe that we fit certain demographics. The world of big data, targeted marketing, and political segregation fits each of us nicely into “our” segments.
Skin color. Gender. Education. Income-level. Sexual preference. Political affiliation. Ethnic background. Veteran status. Religious affiliation.
Don’t allow yourself to be labeled by things that are not important. Visible qualities are not important.
There is one label that matters: Your Heart. The condition of your heart is everything.
It is our heart that makes each and every one of us the same, each made in the image of his or her Creator. This one element of eternal-likeness is common to every man and woman. This label matters.
It is the condition of our heart that will separate us. Some have a heart that is whole, covered by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Others have a heart that is broken, split apart and damaged by our sins and by the labels of the world.
What is the condition of your heart?
“May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
~ 1 Thessalonians 5:23
