Choose to be kind to others not because they’re nice, but because you are.
Don’t justify your actions on the “wrong” behavior of others.
Don’t respond with anger to a lack of kindness in others.
Don’t choose in response to the poor choices of others.
You can’t blame other people!
I tried this as a kid. Know what happened? I had to pick my own switch from the tree in the front yard. And I learned something.
Who’s responsible for my behavior? Me.
Who’s responsible for my choices? Me.
When my finger is pointed outward — blaming the wrong behavior, meanness, and poor choices of others — then I’m wrong.
I cannot have credibility in speaking for the truth when I’m standing in the “wrong.” Neither can you.
“You are responsible for your life. You can’t keep blaming somebody else for your dysfunction. Life is really about moving on.” ~Oprah Winfrey
